I received error message 0xb4. Today, downloads of three updates started, but then froze at 49 percent, after one update was downloaded. I subsequently got a message that this update was ready to install, but when I clicked on install, Preparing to Install Updates froze at 0 percent.

I have not yet tried the procedure to reset the Windows Update component. Is that worth trying? This thread is locked.
