Permission setup

You can change the order of the apps and even add your custom app or third-party apps Figure 5 :. Pinning an app helps promote the app within your organization as the app becomes visible in the app bar Figure 6. It can take a few hours before the app appears due to the need for clients to refresh their cache:.

Global admins can review and grant permission to apps on behalf of all users within the Teams Admin Center Figure 7. This lets users start the app without reviewing and accepting the permissions. Some users may not be allowed to accept permissions to apps if you have configured consent settings in Azure Active Directory:.

In effect, RSC enables owners to consent instead of admins only, because the permission scope is reduced to only that team. However, you should be aware that not all apps support RSC, so before considering RSC to permission your apps, make sure they are designed to take advantage of the model. The Enable Group-Specific Consent setting needs to be turned on to enable users to consent to apps for Teams that they own.

Still, learning about the Azure AD application consent user experience is helpful. You can manage applications for your organization and develop applications in a more unified consent experience. Between varying requirements amongst projects and departments in your organization, over time, you will inevitably end up using a combination of applications within Microsoft Teams.

If you are not comfortable at all using TrueCrypt, the only other suggestion I have is VeraCrypt , which was the successor to TrueCrypt, but fixed many of the flaws. Every file and every folder in Windows has its own set of permissions.

Permissions can be broken down into Access Control Lists with users and their corresponding rights. Here is an example with the user list at the top and the rights at the bottom:. Permissions are also either inherited or not. Normally in Windows, every file or folder gets their permissions from the parent folder. This hierarchy keeps going all the way up to the root of the hard drive.

You can access these permissions by right-clicking on a file or folder, choosing Properties and then clicking on the Security tab. To edit permissions for a particular user, click on that user and then click the Edit button.

Note that if the permissions are greyed out, like in the example above, the permissions are being inherited from the containing folder. List Folder Contents is the only permission that is exclusive to folders. So what do each of these permissions mean? Before you can edit any permissions, you have to have ownership of the file or folder. Read my previous post on how to take ownership of files and folders in Windows if you are currently not the owner. If you right-click on a file or folder, choose Properties and click on the Security tab, we can now try to edit some permissions.

Go ahead and click the Edit button to get started. At this point, there are a couple of things you can do. This is because of the inheritance I was talking about earlier. However, you can check items on the Deny column.

So if you just want to block access to a folder for a specific user or group, click the Add button first and once added, you can check the Deny button next to Full Control. It will show you all the users and groups. Click OK and the user or group will be added to the access control list. Now you can check the Allow column or Deny column. As mentioned, try to use Deny only for users instead of groups.

In the Check user access column, select the check box to indicate that Microsoft Dynamics AX checks a user's permissions before the operation is performed. In the User operation column, select the check box to indicate that the operation can be added to a button. The following table lists the operations that a staff member can perform in Retail POS. The table is sorted alphabetically.

Add a preselected affiliation to a transaction. Select the affiliation in the Button properties form. The affiliation must have been set up previously in Microsoft Dynamics AX.

Add an affiliation to a transaction by selecting from a list. The list of affiliations must have been set up previously in Microsoft Dynamics AX. Enter the customer's loyalty card number. The cashier can also start this operation by swiping a loyalty card. The loyalty request can be performed at any point during the transaction. Retail POS calculates loyalty points at the end of the transaction. The number of loyalty points that are awarded for the items in the transaction depends on the setup of the loyalty program in Microsoft Dynamics AX.

Record the amount of money that is sent to the bank and other information, such as the number of the bank bag. Generate a report that contains all of the bank operations that are performed during the current shift. This operation is performed when closing the shift. This operation represents a customizable button that can be programmatically changed by a software developer for any specialized operation that the business requires.

Generate a report that contains information about all of the operations that are performed on the current register and during the current shift. Open a form where the cashier can type a customer ID to search for the customer. If a customer is found, the customer is added to the transaction. Open the Add customer form, where the cashier can enter information about a new customer.

When the information is saved, the new customer is added to the customer list. Clear a customer from the transaction. If any price agreements apply to the customer, prices and discounts in the transaction might change.

Open a form where the cashier can search for a customer. The cashier can then add the customer to the transaction. Switch the database that Retail POS uses from the store database to the register's offline database, or from the offline database to the store database.

Prevent changes to the screen layout of the terminal. The functionality profile of the terminal specifies whether the cashier has access to this operation. Allow changes to the screen layout of the terminal. Open the Customer details form, where you can view or edit information about the customer that has been added to the transaction. Enter a comment about the transaction. The comment is saved together with the transaction, and appears on the receipt or invoice.

Enter a discount amount for a line item in the transaction. This operation is used only for discountable items and only in specified discount limits. Enter a discount percentage for a line item in the transaction. Lock the register when the cashier must leave the register.

The cashier unlocks the register by logging on.
